الغنوص الإسلامي هو ظاهرة شيعية، فمنذ عهد خلافته أسمى الخليفة الرابع علي بن أبي طالب، ابن عم وزوج ابنة الرسول، وأحفاده الأئمة، موضع نظر الغنوصين الإسلاميين ومناط أملهم في السلطة، وهو ما سيتم عرضه في كتاب (الغنوصية في الإسلام) للمستشرق الألماني هاينس هالم الذي درس الفرق والتيارات الغنوصية والخلفيات السياسية لها منذ عهد الخليفة علي بن أبي طالب؛ إذ يعد الأمل –بالنسبة للغنوصيين- في تحول سياسي لحساب العلويين يلوح في الأفق [أهل بيت علي] من أرسخ ثوابت الغنوصيين وتعاليمهم.
ولمزيد من الإيضاح لا بد من عودة إلى التاريخ الإسلامي تقول: كان علي بن أبي طالب هو الخليفة الوحيد الذي أقام في الكوفة قبل الثورة العباسية، حيث بقي هناك بعد موته رمزاً شعبياً، وكانت الكوفة إبان خلافته القصيرة بؤرة الإمبراطورية العربية، وبحسب المؤلف سانده العراق في الحرب الأهلية ضد حاكم سورية آنذاك معاوية من بني أمية. وعندما كانت الغلبة لأمويَ الشام بعد اغتيال عليَ، حيث جعلوا من دمشق عاصمة الإمبراطورية وأرسلوا بحكامهم إلى الكوفة، وأمست ذكرى الخليفة "العراقي" علي بن أبي طالب نقطة تبلور كل المعارضات السياسية والدينية المناهضة للأسرة الحاكمة [الأموية]. بالرغم من أن أبناء علي –الحسن والحسين لم يسكنوا العراق، بل المدينة، إلا أن أمل المعارضة العراقية بقي معلقاً على أهل البيت.
إذن، يمكن اعتبار كتاب (الغنوصية في الإسلام) دراسة في التاريخ الإجتماعي والسياسي للحركة الغنوصية التي تريد إعادة عرش الخلافة من مغتصبيه ويعيد لـ "أهل البيت" حقوقهم المتوارثة، فبرأيهم، العلويين هم وحدهم الأئمة الحقيقيون والقادة الشرعيون لكافة الأمة الإسلامية، من هنا نعرف لماذا هذا الإيمان الإيديولوجي العميق برجعة الإمام الغائب باعتباره هو "المهدي" المنتظر....
