"كأني أعيش هنا بعيداً عنها ولكن معها، عن الصباح الذي يستيقظ عابساً ويراها تخرج من الغرفة وتسافر بين رملنا الأصفر وغبار المدينة الرمادية.. فأقول لها إني حصان يصهل في منفى بعيد وهي هديل حمام يهرب من السماء الرمادية لمدينة ميلانو".
أنا الهارب من عجاج الصحراء العربية وقطرات الدم وأقف كشموخ الزيتون، وهي المنتصبة كأعمدة في وجه هيكل ومدخنة مصنع وغبار للنقاء، حتى لو صار الحلم رمادياً، كنت أنادي "المجدلية"، أناجيها في اليقظة والحلم. أصف لها شفافية جلدها وشرايينها النافرة المهتاجة حتى على ظاهر اليد، كيف نتصافح ونتمازج كغرباء لكننا أحبه.
صورتها التي رسمتها في كل ثانية من العمر، لامرأة مشغولة بالهم الأممي، تعتصم وتتظاهر، وتلاحقها الشرطة هناك، ومن أجل فلسطين والعراق وأفغانستان وكوبا.. ضد الحرب.
