عدت ثلاثين سنة إلى الوراء. وعلى أنغام العود جلست مكان الحكواتية، ورويت قصة بدت غريبة لغيري، وأنا أحكي عن البنت أنييس، التي يرميها والدها في كل يوم في الغابة البعيدة، وتُمضي ليلتها، باحثة عن طريق البيت، وفي كل ليلة تمرّ بأخطار مختلفة. وفي كل ليلة تصل إلى البيت مدماة محطّمة من التعب، لتعاود، بطريقة سيزيفية عمياء، العودة من الغابة، في كل ليلة.
كنت أتحدث عن أنييس التي هي أنا. ولكنني أروي لا أشرح، أشهق كما رأيت الحكواتية تفعل. أنفعل، أرفع صوتي، أخفضه، أقلد صوت الريح، أصوات الذئاب.
