واعتمد على السنة المقطوع بها الأخبار المتواترة أو الأخبار التي تقترن إليها القرائن التي تدل على صحتها، وإما من إجماع المسلمين إن كان فيها أو إجماع الفرقة المحقة، ثم ذكر بعد ذلك ما ورد من الأحاديث المشهورة في ذلك ونظر فيما ورد بعد ذلك مما ينافيها ويضادّها وبيّن الوجه فيها.
