ولا يعترف الباعة أبداً أنهم منخرطون في عملية البيع، بل يسمون أنفسهم "مديرين"، و"مستشارين" و"مفتشين".
لكن الجميع الآن منخرطون في البيع بطريقة أو بأخرى وعلى مستويات مختلفة. فالأطباء والمحامون وسماسرة العقارات والمشرفون والمهندسون المعماريون، ووكلاء الدعاية والإعلان، والقائمة لا تنتهي تقريباً جميعاً يتطلعون إلى أعمال جديدة وعليهم أن يعرضوا أنفسهم وخدماتهم بطريقة مقنعة.
