هذا هو الجزء الثاني بعد جزء أول من سلسلة الدراسات في العلاقات المسيحية الإسلامية. والهدف من هذه الدراسات هو الإسهام في دفع الحوار البناء وتشجيعه بين المسلمين والمسيحيين المؤمنين بالله وبكرامة الإنسان، في العالم العربي. هذا وينقسم هذا الجزء من الكتاب كسابقه إلى قسمين يدور كل منهما حول محور عام ويتضمن خمس مقالات مستقلة الموضوع ومتقاربة الفحوى. فيبدأ القسم الأول بطرح السؤال الأهم في هدف الحوار بين المسيحية والإسلام وهو: هل يبقى هدف الحوار فقط مجرد تسامح أم يجب أن يتحول إلى قبول واحترام للآخر والعمل على فهمه والتعايش معه؟ وتقدم الدراسة الثانية إطاراً إسلامياً عاماً للعلاقات المسيحية الإسلامية. ثم تنتقل الدراسة الثالثة إلى بحث بعض الجذور التاريخية للنزاع والتخاصم بين المسيحيين والمسلمين وتدعو إلى تخطي هذا الصراع المرير. وتبحث الدراسة الرابعة في مبدأ التعددية الدينية في القرآن الكريم القائمة على وحدة الإيمان بالله وتنوع السبل الموصلة إليه. أما القسم الثاني من الكتاب فبدأ بدراسة مستفيضة لنظرة القرآن الكريم إلى المسيحيين وكيفية فهم المفسرين المعاصرين لهذه النظرة. أما الدراسة الثانية فقدمت بحثاً اعتنى بشرح نظرة الإمام محمد عبده إلى مسيرة الإسلام والمسيحية مع العلم والمدنية، هذا وعنت الدراسة الثالثة ببحث بعض النماذج الحديثة لنظرات أربعة من المفكرين المسلمين إلى المسيحية، أما الدراستان الرابعة والخامسة فتعرضان نظرتين مسيحيتين إلى الإسلام، أولاهما اللاهوتي وباحث ديني مشهور عاش من النصف الأول من المنصرح والثانية لقداسة البابا يوحنا بولس الثاني.
