يعد الدعاء كنزاً من كنوز الأسرار الربانية، ومنهلاً عذباً للعطاء الروحي، ونفحة كريمة نحو التألق إلى عام الملكوت. سبر أغواره المسلمون الأوائل منذ أن ظهر الإسلام، وألفوا فيه الكثير من الكتب التي تتناول شتى المجالات لا سيما كتب الدعاء منذ مئات السنين كان منها كتاب مصباح المتهجد للطوسي، ومهج الدعوات لابن طاووس وغيرها من تلك الخزائن والآثار الفكرية العريقة.
وهذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا جاء جامعاً لبعض ما في هذا الكتب في أدعية وأذكار وأعداد وختوم وهو يشمل على سبعة أبواب متنوعة المضمون. اشتمل الأول منها على أدعية تتعلق بالرزق ودفع الفقر، أما الثاني فاحتوى على أدعية يمكن للمسلم الدعاء بها في الصباح والمساء، وفي الثالث كانت أدعية ما قبل النوم وآداب النوم وهي عشرة. وفي الرابع كانت الأدعية المتعلقة بالخروج من المنزل أو الخروج للسفر. وفي الخامس أدعية لدفع الهم والغم والشدائد ودفع شر الناس والخوف من زوال النعم وقضاء الحوائج والمهمات. وفي الباب السادس جمعت أدعية الدعاء على الأعداء وردعهم والتوسل بالأئمة الظاهرين عليهم السلام. أما الباب السابع والأخير فاختص بذكر الأدعية المتعلقة بالنجاح بالأعمال، وخروج المسجون من الهم غرس الجنة...
