يشتمل هذا الكتاب على يوميّات سطرها المؤلف بين خريف 1992 وشتاء 1999 وهو آنذاك في المهجر أو على سفر، وتحديداً حين كان في فيينا مترجماً (1987-1994)، وفي الريف الفرنسي متأملاً (1994-1997) ثم في الشارقة معلماً (1997-1999)، وهي يوميات صدرت في تسع عشرة حلقة، عشر في النهار (بيروت) واثنان في الحياة (لندن) وست في مجلة البناء (بيروت) واحدة في دورية "الحركة الشعرية (المكسيك)، وأبقى عليها هنا كما ظهرت في الأصل، ولم يدفعه إلى نشرها إلا إلحاح بعض الأصدقاء عليه بضرورة جمعها في كتاب مستقل.
