بعد حوالي أربعة عقود مضت على مؤتمر جدة المنعقد في أيلول وتشرين الثاني من العام 1971م. يقدم الكاتب "محمود شريح" في هذا الكتاب تقرير سري أعدته حركة التحرير الوطني الفلسطيني [فتح] في أعقاب هذا المؤتمر الذي جرى بوساطة مصرية –سعودية لتسوية الخلاف ورأب الصدع بين منظمة التحرير الفلسطينية والحكومة الأردنية وهو تقرير ينشر لأول مرة. كان الكاتب "محمود شريح" قد وقع عليه زمن وجودهفي حركة فتح في مكتب إعلامها آنذاك في العاصمة بيروت.
وفي هذا الكتاب يضع المؤلف القارئ في قلب الحدث، ليشهد فصلاً هاماً ومرحلة مصيرية من تاريخ الأمة العربية، وخصوصاً ما جرى في إتفاقية القاهرة، واتفاقية عمان، وكيف انتهى وجود المقاومة الفلسطينية في الأردن وإلغاء الحكومة الأردنية من وجهتها فعلياً اتفاقيتي القاهرة وعمان.
يتضمن العمل وئائق سرية مصورة تكشف عن المفاوضات التي جرت آنذاك وتحمل تواقيع أصحابها وهي حقائق تظهر لأول مرة للعلن وعلى هذا اعتبر الكاتب "... أن الوئيقة دلالة على وعي سياسي لمرحلة انقضت وحقبة هرمت، وهي بالتالي صفحة تأريخ تحتاج إلى غربلة وإعادة نظر وكرَ بصر".
