تذكرت بألم وصايا والدها، رجاها قبل أن يموت ألاّ تتزوج إلاّ حسب مفاهيم التوراة بيهودي ممارس مؤمن، ما عساه يقول والدها لو رآها بين ذراعي الطبيب الفلسطيني؟.
والطبيب طارق من جهته كان يجد صعوبة في الإقرار بالمشاعر التي يكنّها تجاه هذه الشابة اليهودية، كان يعيش صراعاً بين طبيعته المتمردة وبين الخوف من فشل في علاقته مع سارة.

والجدير ذكره أن هذه الرواية هي طلعة جديدة ومنقحة لرواية "نوستالجيا" الصادرة عن دار بيسان عام 2001، ولقد رشحت هذه الرواية لجائزة القدس.
