تمثل قضايا السلوك التنظيمي في الوقت الراهن محوراً لاهتمام كثير من الباحثين والممارسين في مختلف منظمات خدمة البيئة (صناعية، تجارية، خدماتية…). وإذا كانت الأسباب التي تكمن وراء هذا الاهتمام تتصف بالتعدد والتباين إلا أن اعتبار العنصر البشري هو أهم أنواع الأصول التي تمتلكها المنظمات (وأن الاستثمار في هذا العنصر يعتبر من أجود أنواع الاستثمارات) يأتي على رأس قائمة الأسباب التي تفرض ضرورة الاهتمام بهذا العنصر وما يرتبط بسلوكياته من قضايا.
وإذا كان معد هذه السلسلة من المحاضرات لا يدعي تخصصه في هذا المجال، الذي يعتبر من أكثر المجالات انفتاحاً للاجتهاد العلمي، كما أن دراسته لم تصبح قصراً على طلاب وباحثي كليات إدارة الأعمال أو علم النفس بل امتدت إلى كليات أخرى مثل الطب والصيدلة والهندسة... وغيرها الأمر الذي يؤكد النزعة نحو تكامل العلوم بدلاً من استقلالها. كما أن مجال الاهتمام لم يعد قصراً على البعد الداخلي للسلوك في المنظمات بل امتد ليشمل كافة أطر علاقاته بكل الأطراف التي تتعامل معها المنظمات سواء داخل الدولة الواحدة أو خارج حدودها خاصة بعدما ماتت المسافات بين الدول وتعاظمت النزعة من قبل منظمات الأعمال نحو تدويل نشاطاتها أو عملياتها. وبدون الدخول في مزيد من التفصيل تجدر الإشارة إلى أن هذا الكتاب يحتوي على سلسلة المحاضرات التي ألقيت على طلاب السنة الأولى بكلية التجارة-جامعة بيروت العربية-خلال العام الجامعي 2001/2000. وقد روعي في إعدادها التبسيط الشديد وتجنب الكثير من الموضوعات التي تتصف بالهامشية وتلك التي يمكن إدراكها دون عناء من الطالب.
