إنّ السند المعرفي والإبستمي، الذي كانت تعتمد عليه علوم القرآن الكريم في العصر الإسلامي الكلاسيكي، قد تغيّر اليوم بشكل جذري وعميق، حيث إنّ المعرفة المعاصرة فرضت علينا ضرورة الإنتقال من ثقافة النقل والجمع إلى ثقافة النقد والسؤال، ومن خطاب التأويل الآحادي إلى تحليل الخطاب وتعدّد التأويلات، ومن مقالة تمام المعرفة إلى مقالة نسبيّة المعرفة.
أضِفْ إلى ذلك كلّه ما أصبح متاحاً لدى الدارسين المعاصرين من أدوات في البحث العلمي، ومن مناهج في المقاربة متعدّدة، جلت آفاق المعرفة ممتدّة، تتجاوز نطاق الدين الواحد إلى النظر في الظاهرة الدينيّة عموماً.
ومن ثمّ نقدّر أنّ علوم القرآن الكريم في حاجة مؤكدة اليوم إلى مراجعة نقديّة، حتّى لا نبقى نجترّ ونكرّر أقوال العلماء فيها؛ إذ لم يعُدْ من المقبول، الآن وهنا، ترحيل علوم القرآن الكريم التي تضمّنتها نصوص التراث إلى التفاسير الحديثة والمعاصرة، فنتّخذها مقدّمات أو مداخل لتأويل النصّ الديني.
إنّ الرهان الأساسي من هذا المشروع البحثي هو تأسيس علوم القرآن الكريم على قواعد منهجيّة ومعرفيّة جديدة، يمكن لاحقاً التعويل عليها في مقاربة نصّ القرآن الكريم بوعي متيقّظ وبحسّ تاريخي ليس من همّه تمجيد النصّ الديني بقطعه عن جذوره التاريخيّة، وعن سياقات عصره، وعن منابته الإجتماعيّة التي نجم منها وتشكّل على التدريج، وكذلك ليس من همّه أن يُغلق هذا النصّ على ذاته ويجتثّه من محضنه في الواقع التاريخي.
