في كتابها "الابستمولوجيا المعاصرة وبنائية فنون تشكيل ما بعد الحداثة" تنطلق الدكتورة جنان محمد أحمد من رؤية نقدية تحليلية تعتبر الفن ونتاجه احدى العمليات المعرفية والعقلية القصدية، التي أصبح بالإمكان كشفها وتحليلها وتقييمها واستشراف الافتراض المحقق لها، أو يمكن أن يكون أداة تطوير لها... من هنا ترى المؤلفة إننا بحاجة الى إدماج هذا المجال الابستيمولوجي ضمن نسقه المعرفي، لتقديم هذه النظرية بوصفها رؤية نقدية لفنون التشكيل المعاصرة، بحيث تكون الابستمولوجيا المعاصرة أداة بحث ووصف وتنقيب وتحليل، وأداة كشف لتركيب الفكر الفني الجمالي المنتج لفنون ما بعد الحداثة، وليصبح من الضروري إخضاع لغة الفن لتحليل منطقي علمي من أجل التحول نحو عتبة معرفية جديدة، والإرتقاء بالثقافة الفنية السائدة الى مستوى أكثر قيمة. وعليه، فإن هذه الدراسة هي محاولة لتحقيق التوازن بين المعرفة العلمية والفن ولتأسيس ما ندعوه بأبستمولوجيا الفن، وذلك بتحقيقها لأهداف علمية تنتج عن مجموعة محاور أولها تحقيق الرؤية العلمية على وفق منطق التحليل الابستمولوجي في وصف وتحليل وتقييم البناءات التجريبية للفن التشكيلي ما بعد الحداثي. أما المحور الثاني فيتمثل بالكشف عن المؤسسات التحليلية التي تنطلق من الابستمولوجيا المعاصرة وتوظيفها لتكون أداة تحليل للعمل التشكيلي ما بعد الحداثي. يقسم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة فصول جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: الفصل الأول – ماهية البحث الابستمولوجي.. تاريخه وتطوره. الفصل الثاني – الابستمولوجيا المعاصرة ونظرية المعرفة والتجريب التخيلي والأدائي. الفصل الثالث – النظم التحليلية التجريبية لفنون تشكيل ما بعد الحداثة.
