هدفي من هذا الكتاب تثبيت حقائق دامغة وأحداث جسامٍ مرت على بلادي مثل ما عشتها لفترة زمنية قاسية خلتها داهراً، دفع ثمنها خيرة أبناء الوطن وأشرفهم، وذلك بسبب إثارة نيران الطائفية المهلكة بين الطوائف المختلفة، وبين الأديان المتعددة؛ وقد أردت بكلماتي هذه التحذير من غياب ميزان العدل وشرعية القانون، وبالتالي التحذير من إستبدال نظام جائر بنظام جائر آخر.
الكتاب لا يحي قصة جريمة واحدة تعرضت لها عائلتي في بغداد فحسب، ولا يقتصر الموضوع على قضية شخصية أثارت إهتمام الرأي العام الدولي منذ حوالي الأربع سنوات وحتى يومنا هذا، إنما هي شهادة على أحداث عشتها في بغداد في الفترة 2004 -2007، شاهدت فيها مرارة العيش التي تواجهها المرأة العراقية، أما كانت أو زوجة، أختاً كانت أو ابنة.
إن إختطاف الوطن لا يكون بإحتلاله من قبل قواتٍ غازية فحسب، بل يتعداها إلى حيث تبدأ عملية التغييب القسرى لأبنائه ومفكرية ونُخَبه المثقفة بقصد القضاء على مشاعر المواطنة والإنتماء الوطن يُختطف عندما تٌسحق هوية المواطن ويُشرَد أبناؤه رغما عنهم.
لم أفكر يوماً بنشر ما أكتب على الإطلاق، لكن تطور الأحداث من ناحية، وتشجيع الأصدقاء من ناحية أخرى شجعني على وضع النقاط على الحروف في كلمات بسيطة، علها تعكس هموم الوطن.
