ستة عشرة قصيدة مقسّمة إلى قسمين داخل فصلين" هما عين تحدق في الفراغ" و"تأثيث الغياب"، في هذا الديوان الحديث للشاعر السعودي المعاصر، الذي يعبّر بشفافية عن معاناته عن أحاسيسه الصادقة، بلغة بليغة واضحة وبصور كثيفة متخيّلة.
يتوجه الشاعر برؤيته إلى زوايا الحياة، متطرقاً إلى مواضيعها المتعددة، من المحبة:"يخسر الذاهبون إلى البحر كل لآلئ ارواحهم دفعة واحدة عندما يتركون شموس مباهجهم في جفون الأحبّة..."، إلى موضوع الحبّ: "ما أجمل الحبّ الذي يأتي من الأحداق منسكباً، فيهبط، ثم يهبط في سهول القلب يوقظ زهره الغافي على شوك الترقّب، وإلى موضوع الإغتراب فالحلم: "لن نبتعد... إن طموحاتنا الأرض في ريش التغرّب وانتثرنا على احتمالات الهديل فليس من شان المسافة أن تفكّر في استعادة خطونا والحلم شارعنا الوحيد!"، ثم إلى موضوع الصداقة: "أصدقاؤك، أشجار قلبك، لحن بهيج يصوغ هديل المساءات تلويحة لالتماع الندى، لهم عبق يسترد الزمان وفي طيفهم يغرق الياسمين". لكنه وبعد التجربة والامتحان يرجع حزيناً من كل تلك المواضيع: "تعود إلى شأن حزنك كالخاسرين من العمر والحب والأصدقاء".
في ديوانه هذا يبدو الشاعر متحكماً بتعابيره وصوره بحيث تبدو كل عبارة بحلة صورية شعرية خاصة، وكل كلمة بمثابة موقع اختزن أكثر من خيبة وأكثر من ألم، فخرجت منه قوية وحارّة، وفعّالة.
لكل القرّاء ومتذوقي الشعر، يبدو هذا الديوان "مطمئناً" على الشعر، وليس "على الحافة".
