«الآن في الماضي» علامة رامزة لاستمرار الوقت في النسق الشعري، لكنه في الوقت نفسه عنوان يحيل على معانٍ متعددة، تتسم بالبقاء، والديمومة، والأبدية، لكونه يقترح على القارئ الواحد معانيَ عدَّة في مُتجدّد اللحظة والزمن ولكن بعد اكتشاف المعنى المطلق له الذي صار شيئاً من الماضي.
في هذا الديوان يحاول المُبدع الشاعر "علي الحازمي" أن يقول شيئاً، لا بل أشياء، تُعبر عن شعوره، وإحساسه العاطفي، وأفكاره الفلسفية، وتأملاته الوجودية، أي أنه يحاول أن "يُمَعْني"، أو "يُبدع" هذه العلاقة الخاصة بين الذات الشاعرة والنص المكتوب؛ بكفاءة غير عادية، تُلمح باتجاه الدلالات التي تومئ إليها، وتوحي بها إلى المتلقي.
ولعل قراءة النص المعنون بـ "تأخذني الشواطئ في مدائحها"، يشي بالكثير مما يود الشاعر قوله: "... وَحدي أَمامَ الشِّعرِ/ تُقصِيني القصيدةُ عن مَجرَّتِها/ لأبدو عَاطِلاً عن نَبضِ رؤيايَ الأَخيرِ،/ وما انتهى صوتِي النحيلُ إليهِ من تِيهٍ/ يَفيضُ على مفازاتِ الحُداء/ وَحدي أمامَ الصبرِ/ يَنقُصُنِي الثباتُ على حَوَافِ هَوَاجِسِي/ مَنْ طَوَّقَ الكلماتِ بالمعنَى/ وَبَدَّدَ عن جُفونِ خَيَالِهَا/ شَقفاً مجازياً يُؤثثُ بالسعادةِ/ شُرفَةً مَنسِيَّةً في رُوحِنَا/ وَحدي أَمامَ العمرِ/ تَصغُرني الأَمَانِي حِينَ أَلْمَحُهَا/ تُفتشُ مِن جديدٍ عن وصايا الأمسِ،/ لا ظِلُّ أَيامِي البعيدةِ لامَسَ النجوَىَ/ ولا ليلُ المرايَا وَزَّعَ الذكرى/ على قلقِ الكؤوس.(...)".
يضم الديوان (11) قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "وحدكَ، دُون غيركَ"، "أنا كثيرٌ في غياب أَحِبَّتي"، "تحط الفراشةُ وشماً"، "تُلقي بحزنكَ صخرةً في الماء"، "تأخذني الشواطئ في مدائحها"، "حُرَّةً مِني ومِنكَ"، "التماعي الحُر"، "ريش البعيد"، "راقبني أطير"، "مرايا الدمع"، "زيادة العدم".
