إنه آدم.. رجل الغربة الذي عكف على فكرة البقاء واختار النزوح عن جنة البيت الكبير، إلى أرض غريبة. شيءٌ أثار بي فكرة صناعة النص الذي يجمع بين المصيرين الأكثر تناقضًا! الحياة، والموت، البداية، والنهاية، الظهور والتلاشي.. لقد كان على كل شخصية في هذا العمل أن تشرح لنا الدرس الذي قد تعلَّمَته، ولكن على طريقتها. وبعد أن فرغت من كتابة الفصل الأخير؛ أمضيت وقتًا طويلاً متمعّنًا في السيئات من الدوافع التي تغير من مسارات القصص، وتطفئ حيويتها، وتشعل الانقسام بها، علاوةً على الانفصام الذي تعود أن يجور على روح الغريب وهو بعيدٌ عن مساحات وطنه؛ فلم أدرأ عن بعض الشخصيات شهيتها في إحداث الحداد، ولم أتحفّظ في السياق عن شراهة الانتقام المزعوم. بل قصدت أن أترك للدهشة راحتها في الاختيار ما بين الظلمة والضوء، وحريتها في البحث عن أبواب المغفرة، إلا أنني لم أقصد كل هذا الكرم من الثواب الذي تقدم به الموت من أجل الولادة
