يبحث هذا الكتاب في الجزء الأول منه المراحل الإجرائية عقب وقوع الجريمة من حيث : معرفة الجريمة وظروف ارتكابها، ومرتكب الجريمة، ثم جمع الأدلة المتعلقة بتلك الجريمة، بعد هذه المرحلة تليها مرحلة التحقيق الابتدائي، والتي تتمثل في قيام المحقق بالتحقيق وفي القضايا الهامة التي أقضيت بها الدعوى أمامه. وهي مرحلة وسطى تأتي بعد مرحلة التحقيق الأولي وقبل مرحلة التحقيق النهائي، كما أنه يذكر غاية التحقيق في تلك المرحلة والسلطة والمناط بها هذا العمل. إضافة لهذا يستمر في عرض مراحل التحقيق فيشير إلى المرحلة النهائية. والتي تتضمن القواعد العامة لهذه المرحلة كما تتضمن علنية جلسات المحاكمة وشفوية الإجراءات أما الجزء الثاني : فخصص للخوض في طرق الطعن في الأحكام الجزائية، فذكر الأحكام العامة لطرق الطعن، والتي تتضمن الاعتراض وما يتعلق به من تعريف، وذكر شروطه، سواء الشكلية منها، أو الموضوعية كما إن من طرق الطعن : الاستئناف فذكر تعريفا له، وشروطه الموضوعية أيضا أشار إلى الأحكام التي لا تقبل الاستئناف.
