و"التركيب" هنا مصطلح متداول بين ربات البيوت في منطقة الحجاز لوصف عملية طهي الطعام بذوق وأسلوب يتناسب مع طبيعية المكان ونوع الأدوات والمقادير والتوابل المتوفرة لربة البيت. أما العقبة الثانية في طريق الراغبة في تعلم فن الطهي، بصورة عامة، هي ذوق من سيأكل الطعام وما يتوقعه الآخرين من القدر الذي يطبخ على النار. إضافة إلى ما يحبه الآخرون من وصفات وأنواع معينة من الخضراوات واللحوم، تتفاوت الأذواق في كمية الملح المستساغة، وأنواع التوابل المستخدمة مع كل وصفة حتى بين أفراد العائلة الواحدة، في بعض الأحايين. هناك أيضاً المهتمين بالريجيم والسعرات الحرارية... فأمر الطعام بالنسبة لهذا الصنف من الناس أمر جدي يزيد من الضغوط النفسية ويقلل من الخيارات بهذا التصور ومن منطلق الرغبة في تخفيف حدة المشكلة.
وضع هذا الكتاب بأسلوب منطقي فريد يعتمد كلياً على فكرة "التركيب" الذي ذكرناها مصاغة بأسلوب تربوي يهدف إلى مساعدة القارئ أو القارئة على فهم أبجديات المطبخ المحلي أولاً، ثم تكوين ذوق وتصور يحرر الراغب في تعلم هذا الفن من رقبة التقليد الأعمى والتكرار الممل.
والكتاب بشكل عام يحتوي على أكثر من 300 صورة فوتوغرافية ملونة هدفها تعليم ربّة المنزل خطوة خطوة طريقة إعداد الوصفة المحضرة. كما ويحتوي الكتاب على تعاريف مهمة لبعض المصطلحات المستخدمة في إعداد الطعام، وعلى إرشادات عامة في كيفية إعداد اللحوم والمعجنات، واستعمال الأواني والتوابل...
