Book Description
"صار لكل شيء ثمنه بعد أن فقدت الأشياء ثمنها". هكذا كتب على الجدار بأحمر شفتيها الذي استعاره دون إذن منها، كعادته طبعاً، وهو يكاد "يموت!!" من شدة السكر، ثم هذى، محموماً، على فراشها قبل أن يكتب بقلم الكحل ملاحظة أخرى، إلى جوار الملاحظة الأولى، قرب مخدتها "صار لكل شيء قيمة إذ فقدت القيم أشياءها" فخيل لها أنه "سيجن!!" في اللحظة التالية التي دخلت الغرفة فيها مفرزة من رجال المخابرات وألقت القبض عليه.
وظلت طوال تلك الليلة، التي لم تستقبل فيها أحداً، مرعوبة من "تلك الهذيان!!" الذي قد يجره، تحت التعذيب، إلى "الاعتراف!" بجرائم "تعنيه وحده" لا تعرف عنها شيئاً ولا علاقة لها بها، ولم تغف إلا بعد آذان الفجر بقليل دون أن تدري كيف ومتى غفت".
مرة أخرى يحفر جاسم الرصيف في عمق المأساة العراقية من خلال مزاغل الخوف، في حي بني علي (أرض خارجة على القانون)، بين حربي الخليج الأولى والثانية، اللتين خلقتا وطناً ما زال (يمشي على قدمين متعاديتين)، ومأساة ما زالت مرارتها الساخنة في كل مزاغل العراق!!. ومرة أخرى يبصم جاسم الرصيف لإبداعه المتميز مزغلاً خاصاً به وحده على ساحة الأدب العراقي الحديث عبر تقنية نادرة في فن الرواية.
