هذا الكتاب هو الحلقة الثانية من الدراسة العلمية حول "موطأ" الإمام "مالك بن أنس"، وهي تتعلَّقُ برواياته والتعريف بأصحابها، والمقارنة بينها، ومناهج المؤلفين في هذا الشأن، والتعريف بهم.
وقد اتّفق المُحدِّثُونَ على جلالة نَفْعِ هذا الكتاب وفَضل مُصَنِّفِهِ، فلئن كانت الكُتب تَتفاضل من جهة فَضل المُصَنِّف، أو من جهة إلتزام الصِّحة، أو من جهة شُهرة أحاديثها، أو من جهة القبول لها من عامة المسلمين، أو جهة حُسْنِ الترتيب، وإستيعاب المقاصد المهمة ونحوها من الآداب، فإنَّ هذا الكتاب الجليل احتوى على جميع هذه الأمور.
وقد انتظم عقد هذه المباحث من بابين اشتمل كُلّ منهما على عِدّة فصول سماها المؤلف بــ"أنوار المسالك إلى روايات موطأ مالك"؛ ويشتمل الباب الأول على الفصول الآتية: الفصل الأول: حَصرُ روايات "الموطأ" والتعريف بأصحابها، الفصل الثاني: أسباب إختلاف الروايات وأنواعها، الفصل الثالث: دراسة مناهج المُؤَلِّفين في إختلاف الروايات، الفصل الرابع: مواطن الإتفاق والإختلاف بين الروايات، الفصل الخامس: طُرُقُ الإتصال ببعض روايات "الموطأ".
وقدم الباب الثاني "دراسة مُقارنة لبعض روايات "الموطأ" وبَيان خصائصها ومميزاتها" ويحتوي على ثمانية فصول، تَتضمّنُ الكلام على الروايات الآتية: رواية "يحيى بن يحيى"، رواية "محمد بن الحسن"، "رواية عبد الرحمن بن القاسم"، رواية "عبد الله بن مَسلمة القعنبي"، رواية "سُويد بن سعيد"، رواية "أبي مُصعب الزٌّهري"، رواية "علي بن زياد"، وبيان "الزيادات على "رواية يحيى".
