استقى المؤلف موضوعات هذه القصائد الطويلة من حالات فرضت نفسها على الشعر, بعضها من نضيح التجارب المرة. وبعضها من ذكريات التشرد والاضطراب. وبعضها الآخر من حوار شعراء كبار مع حاضرهم الذي أصبح ماضينا, وإبداعهم الذي غدا تراثنا, وما يمكن أن يكسوهم به حاضرنا نحن ليتابعوا ونتابع معهم الرحلة الشاقة نحو مستقبل طالما حلمنا به, وحاولنا رسم معالمه التي لم تستقر ريشتنا على لون من ألوانها. ربما وجد القارىء شيئاً من الاضطراب البالغ حد التناقض أحياناً بين ميادين هذه الملاحم وساحاتها. وهذا حق. لكن. من رأى طائراً سليماً معافى يألف غصناً واحداً أو نتوء صخر واحداً يحط عليه ويترصد الكون من حوله؟ أليس في الكون وراء وأمام, وفوق وتحت, وما أشبه؟ ثم.. ألسنا بشراً نعيش بلحمنا ودمنا في عالم مضطرب, وزمان مضطرب. يشفع لنا خلق واحد لا نعدوه. هو أننا- في جميع أحوالنا صادقون.
