"متى تختفي في الجفون الدموع؟ متى نطلق البأس بين الضلوع؟ متى نوقد الوجد في نبضات الشعور شموعاً، تنير الطريق أمام الشموع، وراء الشموع، وحول الشموع؟ متى نتقرى صحائف قرآننا؟ ونقرؤه من جديد، نصفي بنا جاء أذهاننا، نصحح بالوحي أفهامنا، وتغسل بالهدى آثامنا، وننسى.. وننسى، على نكد العيش أحقادنا، فتعرف أين يسير الغضب، ونعلن أنا لكل العرب، لمجد العرب، لبأس العرب، لتحرير أرض تضم رفات العرب، إعلاء شأن العلى والنسب، ونرتاح بعد قرون الموات، من الكيد والضغن، وحرب البسوس ونار تمزق شمل العرب، وتمحو المحبة عند العرب، وتفتح كل دروب الهوان، وتحشد فيها جموع العرب، عبيداً أذلاء للمغتصب، متى نعترف، ونحن نصلي، بأنا نرائي، ونكذب؟ حتى بفرض الصلاة نرائي، متى نتقي الله عند الصلاة، فلا مختلف؟ متى نجعل الوحي فرقاننا، وكنا شعوباً وكنا قبائل وحدنا وحيناً وألف بين القلوب نسيناه في زحمة من رزايا الخطوب، فصرنا أحاديث بين الشعوب، تحاصرنا المسكنة، فنضمر طي النفوس شؤوناً، تناقض كل شؤون الهدى المعلنة، فيا أمة نسيت بأسها!، فراحت تغني وتجتر في غفلة المنتهى بؤسها، متى تعرفين الطريق السوي إلى كربلاء؟ وإن الحسين وآل الحسين تنادوا، لنصرة حق، وإعلاء دين، ولم يتنادوا لزرع العداء، وزرع البلاء؟ متى نتقرى رمال الطريق السوي إلى كربلاء؟
