وقد يعتقد البعض من أجيال ما بعد النفط في الكويت أن بلادهم لم تصل إلى ما وصلت إليه إلا بسبب النفط، بينما الواقع يختلف كثيراً عن هذا الإعتقاد، فنهضة البلاد بدأت واستمرت وأتت أكلُها، وخصوصاً في المرحلة الزمنية الممتدة ما بين العامين 1935م و 1975م تقريباً، والتي سناتي على تفاصيل ما مر علينا من أحداثها في فصول هذا الكتاب.
