يُعد كتاب الوجيز في قانون حماية المستهلك، (دراسة في أحكام القانون اللبناني مع الإشارة إلى حماية المستهلك المتعاقد عن بُعد إلكترونياً) للدكتورة فاتن حسين حوّى أستاذ القانون التجاري المُساعد بقسم القانون التجاري - كلية الحقوق والعلوم السياسية بجامعة بيروت العربية أحد المصادر القانونية التي تُعنى بشرح قواعد وتطبيقات حماية حقوق المستهلك في لبنان في ضوء قانون حماية المستهلك اللبناني، وإستناداً لأحدث الأحكام القضائية الصادرة عن المحاكم اللبنانية، إضافة إلى دراسة التجارب العملية التطبيقية لهذا القانون.
ويتضمن هذا المؤلّف بين دفتيه شرحاً لمضمون قانون حماية المستهلك في لبنان لسنة 2005 وما يرتبط به من قواعد حماية ذات صلة بحماية المستهلك، حيث تم شرح وتحديد ماهية عقد الإستهلاك وأطرافه، وماهية حقوقهما وواجباتهما كمفاعيل لهذا العقد ثم تم البحث في موضوع الحماية الموضوعية والإجرائية والمؤسسية للمستهلك من قبل الأجهزة الوطنية الرسمية وغير الرسمية علاوة على حماية المستهلك المتعاقد عن بُعد "إلكترونياً".
كما تم تعزيز الدراسة بالبحث في الواقع العملي التطبيقي في مجال كيفية ضبط المخالفات المتصلة بإنتهاكات حقوق المستهلك ومخالفة القانون، علاوة على إتجاهات القضاء في إنفاذ قانون حماية المستهلك مدنياً وجزائياً.
ولعل أهمية معالجة هذا الموضوع تبرز في ظل إعتبار موضوع الحماية القانونية للمستهلك ذا بعد قانوني وإقتصادي ومجتمعي هام، خاصة في ظل هذا التحول العالمي الكبير من الشراء من السوق العادية إلى التسوق الإلكتروني الذي نمارسه يومياً عبر العالم الإفتراضي، ولا نعرف ماذا بعد؟.
