تصدر "أفق بلا ملامح" باكورة إبداع الروائية اللبنانية فدى أبو شقرا عطا الله عن نظرة تسوية لموقع المرأة الإجتماعي وللعلاقة بين المرأة والرجل في المجتمع العربي، تضع القارىء أمام نص جاد يتمتع بواقعية نقدية إجتماعية ينهل من تجارب الحياة، وتظل حواء حجر الزاوية في كل مشهد من مشاهده.
تنطلق الروائية في أحداث القصة من نزعة واقعية في تحليل شخصية المرأة والرجل بشكل عام وتتخذ من علاقة حب نشأت بين "لميس" و "راغد" مادة تبني عليها تحليلها للواقع المعاش في مجتمع يعتبر الحب جريمة، ويكون فيه الرجل صاحب القرار، والرواية بهذا المعنى تمثيل أمين لواقع خارجي يعبر عن حقائق إنسانية داخلية، فمن خلال شخصية "لميس" تجسد الروائية التحول في شخصية المرأة في مساراتها المختلفة، وجرأتها في الدفاع عن حقها في الحب والحياة، حتى ولو كان اختيارها هذا سيكلفها الكثير. "كانت تعلم ما تعنيه كلمة "خطيفة" والعار الذي ستلحقه بالعائلة، كانت تشعر بالنار التي أضرمتها وما ستخلفه من رماد سيتطاير في سماء الغد. كانت تحس بخجل والدتها وأخوتها وتلامس رغبتهن في الإختفاء عن عيون الناس وألسنتهم اللاذعة (...)، رحلت وكل شيء أمامها ممحو. غد مجهول، أيام مبعثرة، وأفق بلا ملامح ...".
وبالإنتقال إلى الخطاب الروائي، لعل أحادية الراوي تشكل إطاراً مناسباً لأحادية الشخصية / المحور "لميس" التي تتمحور حولها الأحداث، ويُرى إلى المشهد الروائي من خلالها، وينسجم مع هذه الأحادية طغيان السرد على الحوار، وهو خطاب يلبس لبوس الإعترافات الذاتية أحياناً، والذي يحيلنا إلى روائية أخرى نتذكرها ونحن نقرأ الرواية، وهي غادة السمان، لا سيما في كتابها "أعلنت عليك الحب".
