يذهب أصحاب النزعة العلمية الى أن التيقن من شيء- أي شيء- حق التيقن يمكن أن يكون مفتاحاً لتفسير الشيء- أي شيء- ويذهب الباحثون فيما بعد البنيوية الى أنه يمكن تفسير الشيء أي شيء- من خلال كلمتين, ويمثل المترجم لذلك ببات وفات وقات.. فلو قلنا مثلاً إن صيغة الفل من لفظ (ف.ل) هي كلمة واحدة, وجاء من يقول: إنها كلمتان هما (ف.ل) هذه التي نشاهدها بأم أعيننا وهناك كلمة أخرى هي (ل.ف) التي هي مقلوبها, فهل هناك من يداخله الشك في أن كلاً من (ف.ل) و (ل.ف) هي مقلوبها القائم في ذاتها في صورة والذي لا ينفك عنها أبداً, بل إن من المستحيل أن ينفك عنها, لأن كلاً منهما توجد بوجود مقلوبها وتزول بزواله. وهذا الكتاب سيحاول الكشف عن أن كل شيء يقوم من ذات وموضوع, وأن نقيض كل شيء قائم من ذاته من زمان ومكان واحد, كما سيكشف عن قانون الحركة الأساس في الشيء في ذاته وعن سمات هذه الحركة وكيف أنها حركة فوق الزمان والمكان وتلقائيين من جهة وذات سرعة لا تتناهى من جهة أخرى- وإن الثالث الذي وصفوه بأنه مرفوع إنما هو ثالث ليس الى رفعه من سبيل وإن الهوية ثابتة من وجه ومتغيرة من وجه آخر- وإن الشيء في ذاته ذو سرعة لا تتناهى في الانتقال من نهاية إحدى صورتيه اللتين يتألف منهما الى بداية الصورة الأخرى, ومن خلال هذه المبادىء يحاول المؤلف التعقيب على شيء من الكتاب والقرآن دراسة معاصرة للدكتور محمد شحرور. و قد كان من أهم ما تناوله الكتاب ما يلي: دعاوى القراءة المعاصرة, الجسر المفقود الموجود, جانوسي والسرعة الحدية, النتائج الخطيرة لما ذهب إليه أرسطو وأصحابه- نظرية الكم, عودة على الترادف, الحدود وحركة الوجود, القضاء والقدر بالنسبة الى الله عز وجل, تجاوز المعلوم ضرورة, وغيرها من المواضيع الهامة.
