إن الذي يقف على ما بذله القدامى في سبيل هذا الحرف من جهود ويرى ثمار ما تركوه لنا بعد عناء؛ يدرك مبلغ ما كانوا عليه من شرف ونزاهة وعفة وعبقرية. وحين ترى حركة الجدل هذه تجري في تلك الخطوط التي رسموا معالمها، وحددوا مسالكها، وأوضحوا طرقها، تعلم أن القوم كانوا أمناء في نقلهم، منزهين عن كل قصد وغرض إلا خدمة هذا الحرف.
يأتي هذا الكتاب في هذا الإطار حيث يقدم محمد عنبر بحثاً يرسم من خلاله معالم الطريق إلى قيام فلسفة جديدة تعتمد حركة الجدل في تحديد مقولاتها. فحركة الجدل في الألفاظ ترشد إلى وضع كلمات جديدة لأشياء مستحدثة تتسق وبناء الواقع الحي، وتجري جرية في حركة واحدة.
وهدف الباحث من وراء دراسة هذه اللغة دراسة جدلية أن توضع اللغة ليس في مكان العربي بين قومها فحسب، بل في مكانها الإنساني بين الأمم بحيث يصبح كل تعريب، أو اشتقاق أو ترجمة لا يستضيء بحركة الجدل هذه تنقطع رحمه الموصولة بأصله، ويصبح غريباً في موطنه بين أهله وعشيرته الأقربين، والغاية أن ينهض الغيارى على هذا الحرف بدراسته دراسة جدلية، ولو في حدود الألفاظ المتداولة على الأقل، ليصلوا بينها وبين أصولها الأولى.
