لقد فضَل الإسلام يوم الجمعة على سائر الأيام، فجعله بمثابة العيد للمسلمين، وحثَهم على التلاقي والتزاور والتطيَب، ولبس أجمل الثياب، وإن كانت الأيام كلها طيبة في الإسلام، إذ إنه حثَ على عدم معاداة الأيام كي لا تعادينا، كما إعتبر كل يوم لا يعصى الله فيه فهو عيد.
وخضَ يوم الجمعة بصلاة إلحاقاً بتمييزه عن سائر الأيام الأخرى. أما لماذا تمييز يوم الجمعة عن سائر الأيام فقد شرح المؤلف الشيخ محمد صادق الكرباسي أسباب ذلك بالتفصيل مبنياً في هذا الكراس أهمية صلاة يوم الجمعة، وكيفيتها، ثم الشروط التي يجب توافرها لكي تقام، وبالتالي متى تكون واجبة ومنى تكون مستحبة، وهل هي واجبة في كل الأوقات أم مستحبة، أم أن هناك إمكانية لعدم إقامتها، وعدد المصلَين المطلوب تواجدهم إلى جانب الإمام، والشروط التي يجب توافرها في المصلين أنفسهم، وفي الإمام الذي يقيم الصلاة في فترة غياب الإمام المعصوم، والمسافة التي تلزم المصلي بالحضور، والخطبتان، نوعيتهما، وكيفيتهماـ إلى جانب كثير من التفاصيل المتعلقة بها، بحيث لم يترك صغيرة أو كبيرة إلا واشار إليها.
