ومن ناحية أخرى فإن لكل أمة مفاهيمها الخاصة بها، وتقرر لغتها المصطلحات التي تعبر عن تلك المفاهيم وهناك علاقة حتمية بين تصورات العقل ومفاهيمه وبين سلوك الأفراد وتصرفاتهم. وفي محاولة لاستكناه جانب من مكونات العقل العربي، درس الكاتب بعض المفاهيم الأساسية في الثقافة العربية كما هي مستعملة في ما يستشهد به العربي في خطابه اليومي من أمثال سائرة وحكم متبعة وأقوال مأثورة وشعر ونثر. وقد سجل المؤلف ملاحظاته في هذه المقالات التي ضمها هذا الكتاب.
