يُطلق إسم مملكة دلمون على حقبة زمنية امتدت لقرابة ثلاثة آلاف سنة بدأت من أواخر الألف الثالث قبل الميلاد . نجد أننا أمام كاتب وهو علي الصديقي يأخذنا إلى زمن الماضي ليزودنا بمعلومات حول الشعب البحريني في حقبة حضارته الدلمونية فاختار عنواناً لعمله "تاريخ النظام السياسي والقانوني في حضارة دلمون". قد يتبادر إلى ذهن الكثير منا كيف تمكن الكاتب من التعرّف على نظام دلمون السياسي والقانوني؟ سيجد القارىء أن الكاتب قام بدراسة بقايا تراث دلمون للتوصل إلى تراثهم غير المادي أيضاً من مثل أنظمتهم الإجتماعية والسياسية والقانونية. لقد لفت انتباه الكاتب حرص الفرد الدلموني على امتلاك ختم يخصه ليختم به وليسير إلى ذاته كجهة أنجزت تلك الخدمة كـ (توليد الأطفال) أو المنتج كـ (الفخار) أو ليوثق عملية بيع تجارية أو ليشهد على ذاته أنه رهن أشياء مقابل مال أو مقايضة شيء بشيء. كما تبين للكاتب أن ظاهرة إنتشار الأختام لم تكن مقتصرة بين النحب بل كانت ظاهرة إجتماعية تميز بها المجتمع الدلموني مما قاده إلى دراسة المفهوم السياسي والقانوني الجماعي في المجتمع الدلموني. وهكذا، سيجد القارىء للكتاب أن القانون في كل زمان ومكان يتحرك ليلبي متطلبات تستحدث وتستجد من حقبة دلمونية إلى أخرى، يبدو فيها استعداد الدلمونيين للإنتظام الثقافي والإلتزام القانوني وقدرتهم على خلق مؤسسات تساعدهم على تحقيق هذا النظام وإدارته، بل استدامته أيضاً.
