تعالج هذه الدراسة التي بين أيدينا موضوع حروب الردة من خلال تفسير جديد يقدم المعاني في إطار تحليلي يجمع ما بين الجانبين الروحي والتاريخي كما تركز على الجانب البشري وتعزو تنظيمه وقوته للإيمان، وهي في الوقت نفسه، تتخذ مساراً نقدياً لبعض الدراسات التاريخية حول هذه الحروب، للبحث على ضرورة إعطاء الزاوية القرآنية حقها في الأعمال الفكرية المستقبلية المختصة بالموضوع.
وبشكل عام ركزت المؤلفة في هذه الدراسة أولاً على الأوضاع في شبه الجزيرة العربية بعد وفاة الرسول محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ومنها استقت دوافع الردة كلها بتفصيل، وبعدها انتقلت إلى موقف الصديق رضي الله عنه وحكومته، ودورهم في الإعداد العسكري للقضاء على التمرد. ثم دخلت في موضوع العبر والدروس، لأن الحدث التاريخي من منظور الباحثة لا تبرز أهميته إلا بتحليله والتأمل بانعكاساته على المسار الزمني. وهذه الدراسة المدونة بأسلوب تحليلي قصصي هي السادسة في سلسلة الفتوحات العربية التي تتحدث عن المعارك والغزوات التي جرت في العهد التأسيسي للإسلام والمسلمين.
