ما تزال "رسالة الحقوق" للإمام عليّ بن الحسين زين العابدين عليه السلام في قلب الأمة الإسلامية ووجدانها، حتى أنها أصبحت بالنسبة للكثيرين مقياساً للمبادىء والعدالة والحرية وأملاً للقلوب في بحثها عن ذاتها وعن الصراط المستقيم.
في هذا الكتاب شرح لهذه الرسالة الخالدة لسماحة الشيخ السيد حسين اسماعيل الصدر، تتضمن خلاصة المبادىء السامية للإنسان المسلم يرى فيها المؤلف أنها "تهدي للتي هي أقوم في علاقات الناس بعضهم ببعض، افراداً وجماعات، حكومات وشعوباً، دولاً وأجناساً، وحسبها عظمة وسمواً أن غارس بذرتها نبعة شجرة النبوة، وأصل معدن الحكمة الإمام السجاد زين العابدين عليه السلام".
وعلى هذا، انطوى الكتاب على (خمسين حقاً) هي من مجمل الحقوق التي ذكرها الإمام عليه السلام في الرسالة الحقوقية الخالدة، جاءت معنونة بعناوين شاملة، وجامعة كلية، يندرج تحتها عناوين جزئية، قام المؤلف بشرحها مع إستشهاد بأقوال الإمام وما يتوافق معها في كتب الأئمة، وما يؤكدها في كتاب الله (القرآن الكريم) ، على اعتبار أن كل حق ذكره الإمام عليه السلام هو باب من أبواب الفقه الإسلامي، ومدخل للنظام الأجتماعي والإقتصادي والأخلاقي والسلوكي والثقافي والعلمي.
أما الحقوق التي جاء شرحها في الكتاب فهي: حق الله تعالى، حق النفس، حق اللسان، حق السمع، حق البصر، حق اليد، حق الرجل، حق البطن، حق الصلاة، حق الصوم، حق الصدقة، حق المعلم، حق الأم، حق الأب، حق الولد، حق الأخ، حق العبد، حق الصاحب، حق السائل، حق المسؤول ... الخ.
هذه الخمسون حقّاً، محيطةً بك، يجب رعايتها، والعمل في تأديتها، والاستعانة بالله تعالى على ذلك، ان مجمل الحقوق التي ذكرها الامام عليه السلام في الرسالة الحقوقية الخالدة، جاءت معنونة بعناوين شاملة، وجامعة كلية، ينطوي تحتها عناوين جزئية، قمنا بشرحها وأن كل حق ذكره الامام هو باب من أبواب الفقه الاسلامي، ومدخل للنظام الاجتماعي والاقتصادي والأخلاقي والسلوكي والثقافي والعلمي.
