تتناول هذه الدراسة حقل معرفي هام يكشف عن جانب من الفكر العربي المعاصر، وهو الخطاب النقدي العربي المعاصر، كما أن اختيار المؤلفة للخطاب النقدي الجابري موضوع للدراسة والبحث يكتسب أهميته من كون مؤلفه "محمد عابد الجابري" تجاوز أربعة عقود من الإنتاج الغزير في مجال الفلسفة، وهو صاحب مشروع نهضوي نقدي متكامل (نقد العقل العربي) بأجزائه الثلاثة وعبره بينت الدكتورة "مبروكة جبريل" تحليل ونقد المؤلف للفكر والعقل العربيين المعاصرين في عدد من كتبه، وإنشغاله بأسئلة النهضة العربية وإشكالياتها...
أما الهدف الذي تطمح إليه هذه الدراسة هو المشاركة في نشر الروح النقدية العقلانية العلمية في الفكر العربي، من خلال إبراز الكاتبة لدور النقد العقلاني وضرورته لمراجعة ومساءلة الفكر والواقع العربيين، وتعميق الوعي النقدي في الفمر العربي المعاصر.
وفي طريقها إلى تعقب الظروف والملابسات العامة منها والخاصة التي شاركت في إنتاج وتطور الخطاب النقدي الجابري، قامت الكاتبة بعرض هذا الخطاب ونقده عبر سبعة فصول خصصت الأول منها لفئة (النقد الأيديولوجي)، ووقفت في الفصل الثاني عند فئة (نقد الثقافي)، وعرضت في الفصول: الثالث والرابع والخامس لفئة (النقد الإيبيستيمولوجي)، ودرست في الفصل السادس فئة (النقد السياسي)، أما الفصل السابع والأخير فتناولت فيه دراسة وصفية مختصرة لمسار البرهنة، والحقول المرجعية، وخصائص الخطاب النقدي الجابري، والمسار النقدي فيه، وأخيراً خاتمة ونتائج الدراسة.
