بعد دراسة مصادر الالتزام والتعرف على سبب نشوئه سواء كان العقد أو الإرادة المنفردة أو الفعل النافع أو الفعل الضار أو القانون، لا بد للمهتم بدراسة القانون من التعرف على الآثار المترتبة على نشوء الالتزام أو الحق حيث ينبغي له أن يتعرف على طريقة تنفيذ هذا الالتزام سواء أتم ذلك بصورة اختيارية أم إجبارية. كما ينبغي له أيضاً التعرف على الأوصاف الخاصة التي قد تلحق بالالتزام سواء كانت متعلقة بموعد استحقاقه كأن تكون معلقة على شرط أو مضافة إلى أجل وهو ما يعرف بالالتزامات المشروطة أو المؤجلة. أو كانت متعلقة بمحل هذا الالتزام كأن يكون متضمناً لأكثر من محل فيكفي المدين أن يقوم بتأدية أي واحد منها لإبراء ذمته وهو ما يعرف بالالتزام التخييري، أو كان محل الالتزام منذ البداية واحداً إلا أن القانون منح المدين مكنة الوفاء بغيره أو ببديل عنه فيكون الالتزام عندئذ التزاماً بدلياً، أو كانت متعلقة بأطراف الالتزام كأن يتعدد الدائنون فيكون بينهم ما يسمى بالتضامن الايجابي، أو يتعدد المدينون فيكون بينهم ما يسمى بالتضامن السلبي. كما ينبغي لهذا المهتم سواء كان طالباً أو باحثاً أن يتعرف على كيفية انتقال الالتزام من شخص إلى شخص آخر سواء كان دائناً أم مديناً وهو ما يعرف بحوالة الحق أو حوالة الدين والتي عالجها مشرعنا الأردني ــ كما سنرى لاحقاً ــ تحت مسمى انتقال الحق بشكل مطلق وعام و دون تفرقة بين حوالة الدين أو حوالة الحق. وينبغي أخيراً على المهتم بدراسة القانون وبعد معرفته ودراسته لمصادر الالتزام أن يتعرف على كيفية انقضاء الالتزام أو الحق، سواء كان ذلك بالإبراء أو باستحالة تنفيذه أو بمرور الزمن عليه وتقادم دعوى المطالبة به.
