الحديث عن المنهج هو حديث عن كاشفية العقل وتحديده للطريق الواضح الذي يجب أن يُسلك لتصل إلى نتائج سليمة. وأقسام المنهج عديدة واختلفت الآراء فيها. كما إن علماء الأمة قد أولوا عناية متقدمة جداً للمنهج. وقد تمكن "المنهج" المادي من أن يفرض نفسه على المنهج العقلي وإن يخترق حصونه، حتى أصبح البعض يرى أن المنهج الغيبي نقيض المنهج العقلي وهذا ما يسعى مؤلف الكتاب لإبطاله وتفنيده، فالمنهج الذي لحق به جراء الغارة التي شنت على العالم الإسلامي كما إن الحقل المنهجي يشهد دراسة القيم والحي والغيب والدنيا والآخرة. وآخر انتقائي يؤمن نظرياً بالمنهج العقلي ويعتمده في بعض المجالات.
وينبه من الوقوع في وهم الحوار حيث أصبحت دعوة الحوار على كل شفة ولسان، وهو ما يكشف أن جهود خط العصمة في تثبيت مبدأ الحوار بين البشر قطع أشواطاً كبيرة، وما يزال يمضي قدماً ولكن الضرورة تستدعي التنبه جيداً إلى الفرق بين الحوار الفكري والحوار المصلحي المتستر بالفكر.
إنه وهم الحوار، إن مهمة المعصوم تنطلق من قاعدة تقديم الحل للمأزق الذي يواجه البشرية. وهو مأزق تسيء الإنسان واستباحة حرمته وإلغاء روحه. إن الإنسانية من وجهة نظر المعصوم، جوهرة إلهية فريدة. والذي يضمن رعاية تلك الجوهرة هو معرفة الإنسان نفسه، ومعرفته حقيقة الوجود. وتبدأ مهمة المعصوم من النقطة التي لا يمكن للبشرية بلغها والإبداع فيها إلا بفتح أبواب الغيب أمامها.
