الكتاب الذي بين يديك واضح المعالم من خلال عنوانه العام، لكن الذي ينبغي الإشارة إليه هو: أولاً: إن الكتاب ليس سرد منامات فقط كسائر كتب تعبير الرؤيا، وإنما هو كتاب حديثيّ فينبغي التعاطي معه على هذا المستوى، وعلى أساس أنه جامع لبعض روايات أهل البيت عليهم السلام التي تشترك وتتحرك ضمن إطار ومضمون واحد، وقد أوصى أهل البيت عليهم السلام شيعتهم على كيفية التعامل مع ورواياتهم، وما هو السبيل الأفضل للتعاطي معها.
ثانياً: انطلاقاً من إيمان المؤلف بالقيمة العلمية والمعنوية للمنام الذي يراه المعصوم نفسه وأنه يمثل حالة من الاتصال بالجانب الغيبي والارتباط بالوحي الإلهي لذلك كان سرده لهذه المنامات وذكرها انتخابياً يعتمد على هذه الضابطة، إذا لم يكن عرض المؤلف في كتابه هذا هو جمع كل ما ورد من مناماتهم بل طرح ما يقطع ببطلانه وكذبه لعدم إمكان نسبته إلى المعصوم حتى على مستوى الاحتمال.
