إنه مما يستدعي التأمل والتفكر والتدبر في حياة أمهات المؤمنين، رضوان الله عليهن أجمعين، مواقف كثيرة، سواء كانت فردية خاصة، أو اجتماعية عامة، فكلها أمثولات ودروس على مستوى عالٍ وراقٍ من المسلكية. ويضم هذا الكتاب في طيّاته نبذاً من سيرة ثلاثة من أمهات المؤمنين: ميمونة بنت الحارث الهلالية التي وهبت نفسها للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والتي شهدت منها عائشة رضي الله عنها والتي حدثت عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأحاديثها في الصحاح وفي كتب السنن. وثاني أمهات المؤمنين التي دار الحديث حولها في هذا الكتاب مارية القبطية التي وطنها الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم بملك اليمين وثم أعتقها وتزوجها بعد أن وضعت ولده إبراهيم وهي لم تتزوج أحداً بعده وقد عاشت إلى خلافة "عمر" وقد كانت ذات حسب ونسب عريقين.
وأما ريحانة بنت زيد بن عمرو رضي الله عنها فقد اختارها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من بين صبايا بني قريظة ولما أسلمت أعتقها الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم وكان يقسم لنسائه وقد ماتت في حياته. وقد وردت سيرة أمهات المؤمنين الثلاثة بأسلوب هو أقرب للسرد القصصي المتغلف بالمسحة الإنسانية دون إغفال المنهجية العلمية في توثيق الأخبار.
