في كتابه (المقاومة الجهادية) يسعى الشيخ "علي طه" إلى تقديم الإسلام للعالم كما هو، في عقائده ومبادئه، وتعاليمه ومفاهيمه وتشريعاته وقيمه وأخلاقه، وسيرة نبيه (ص) وآل بيته الأطهار، وأصحابه النجباء، بأسلوب حسن يقرب ولا يبعد، يحبب ولا يبغض.
يستند المؤلف في رأيه هذا إلى ما أمرنا الله به في قوله تعالى: "ادع إلى سبيل ربك بالحكمة والموعظة الحسنة وجادلهم بالتي هي أحسن". لذا فإن الحديث عن القوة والجهاد والمقاومة الجهادية أصبحت اليوم ضرورة "في زمن الإرهاب الإستكباري ضد الشعوب المستضعفة".
وفي هذا السياق ينبه مؤلف الكتاب إلى واجب التركيز على نفي تهمة الإرهاب عن الإسلام، وقراءة الآخر المختلف ونظرته إلى الدين الإسلامي، وتفحص ما يصدر عن وسائل الإعلام المغرضة من قبل أعداء الإسلام الذين يريدون "الإسلام الذي يرضي الغرب" من دون النظر إلى حق الشعوب في الدفاع عن أراضيها ودينها وهويتها.
توزع الكتاب على ثلاثة فصول جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: الفصل الأول: الإسلام والجهاد والسلام، الفصل الثاني: مشروعية المقاومة الجهادية، الفصل الثالث: الجريمة والثأر والعمليات الإنتحارية - الإرهابية .. تحليل وحلول، وأخيرا ملحق: فتاوى علماء الإسلام حول مشروعية المقاومة الجهادية والعمليات الإستشهادية وتحريم الإنتحار والعمليات الإنتحارية - الإرهابية.
