في هذا الكتاب نقرأ عن رحلات المعلم والفيلسوف "كمال جنبلاط" إلى الهند ولقاءه بالمعلم "كيري" شري أتمانندا بتاريخ 23 تشرين الثاني عام 1951.
ما يميز الكتاب هو طرحه لوجهتي نظر تمثل ثقافة الشرق، وما يجمع بينها وبين الفلسفة الهندية، نتلمس ذلك عند قراءتنا لتلك النقاشات والطروحات الفكرية والفلسفية العميقة التي دارت بين المعلم جنبلاط وشري أتمانندا في مفاهيم تشكل جزءاً لا يتجزأ من حياة الأفراد والمجتمعات معاً مثل: مسألة الوجود، الحرية، المعرفة، الحلم، السعادة، المحبة... الخ. أما أجمل ما قرأناه في هذا الكتاب عندما سأل المعلم "كمال جنبلاطط الفيلسوف "أتمانندا" عن حقيقة العواطف؟. قال: "بأن السعادة ليست عاطفة بل هي "الأنا الحقيقية" وكل ما يصرف المرء عن الإستقرار بها والإستغراق فيها يتسَبب بإثارة العواطف وكلها أي كل العواطف تبدأ وتزول، أما "الأنا الحقيقية" فتبقى وتدوم، وعليه تكون السعادة دائمة لا يعتريها فناء ولا زوال. إن العواطف من أعمال الفكر وناتج حركته تبدأ به، أي بالفكر، وتزول بزواله".
أما قراءة كمال جنبلاط، هي قراءة الحياة في بساطتها وسعادتها ألم يقل: "الحياة شعلة مضيئة، أمسكت عليها بيدي، وعليَ واجب أن أجعلها أكثر نوراً وتألقاً، قبل أن أسلمها للأجيال القادمة؟".
كتاب رائع نرتحل مع مؤلفه إلى كواليس الحياة في الهند لنتعرف على تاريخها، وحالتها الإجتماعية، وعلمائها، ومحاربوها، وفنها وفلسفتها الدينية...
