يتحدث هذا البحث عن الأسس المبنائية للعرفان وعلاقته مع الشريعة حيث يعالج: أصالة العمل، الاعتقاد بحقيقة الوجود، الاعتقاد بالعلم الحضوري، بالإضافة إلى العلم الحصولي، الحقيقة الواحدة التي يسعى العارف للوصول إليها والفناء فيها، العلاقة ما بين الإنسان وتلك الحقيقة الوجودية، الاعتقاد بالرياضة والمجاهدة، دور العناية الإلهية إلى جانب الجهد المبذول من الإنسان، العشق، المنهج المعرفي للعرفان، ما يميز المدرسة العرفانية عن بقية المدارس من كلامية ومشائية وإشراقية والحكمة المتعالية.
فضلاً عن تلك المباحث التي ترتبط بتعريف العرفان وموضوعه وهدفه وأقسام العرفان، وتلك المسائل المقدماتية التي تمنحنا تصوراً إجمالياً عن العرفان وحقيقته.
وفيما يرتبط بالعلاقة ما بين العرفان والشريعة وانتقاد المتشرعة والفقهاء للعرفان في جملة من الأمور، فقد تم طرح هذه المسائل، وهي: وحدة الوجود، ووحدة الأديان، وعدم العناية الكافية بالنبوة وطرح قضية الولاية، والشطحات، والتأويل، هذا في الجانب الاعتقادي.
أما في الجانب العملي فطرحت مسائل ترتبط بما يقوم به المتصوفة من أعمال لا دليل عليها من الشرع، أو ما كان يؤدي إلى تفسيقهم واتهامهم بالإباحة فيما يرتبط بالواجبات الشرعية. هذا وقد كان الهدف من هذه المحاولة بيان حقيقة المدرسة العرفانية ومنهجها وأسسها الفكرية، والإضافة على مفهوم العرفان وأهم عقائدها مما يساعد على تمييز المدرسة العرفانية عن غيرها من المدارس الفكرية، ووعي العرفان، وامتلاك ثقافة عرفانية تسمح بتمييز كثير من الأفكار التي تطرح في الجانب العرفاني ووعيها ومحاكمتها، حتى لا يؤجي الخواء الثقافي في الجانب العرفاني إلى نوع من الصياع المعرفي أو إلى تبني جملة من الأفكار باعتبار كونها أفكاراً عرفاتية، في حين أنها الذي لا تنتمي إلى العرفان الحق.
