في عمله هذا يختار "هاني أبو غضيب" الشاعرة فدوى طوقان كنموذج وطني مبدع للقصيدة الفلسطينية المعاصرة، في دراسة متكاملة تستوعب قدر المستطاع، رؤية الناقد لهذه القصيدة، عبر مراحل عدة. أما تفاصيل هذا الكتاب، فهي تبدأ من واقع التاريخ النقدي للشاعرة، لتستمر، وتتصاعد عبر المجموعات الشعرية لها، كأنما يتابع المؤلف رؤيته النقدية في استقراء دقيق لانطباعاته، من خلال كل قصيدة مستقلة بذاتها، لتنفتح بالتالي على مسيرة الشاعرة كلها.
تتصمن الدراسة النقدية لأعمال الشاعرة فدوى طوقان العناوين الآتية: "رحلة مع ديوان وحدي مع الأيام"، "في أحضان الطبيعة"، "مع معاناتها الوجودية"، "مع معاناتها الإنسانية"، "ويبدأ الديلكتيك"، "التناقض الإنفجاري"، "كيف كان الحب عند فدوى"، "الحب وديالكتيك المصير"، "هدير التمرد"، "ويزحف الجراد"، "الشكل والجوهر"، "وماذا بعد الطوفان"، "ثنائية الموت الحياة"، "جدلية الهدم والبناء".
ومن أشعار الحب عند فدوى طوقان نقرأ: "لهواك كل مواسمي امتلأت/ وسخت بغيض جنى وأزهار/ لهواك آفاقي مرصعة/ يزهو السنا في صدرها العاري/ لهواك هذا الليل أسهره/ نشوى، ابيح الليل اسراري (...)/ ها انت بحر راح يأخذني/ في موجبته أخذ جبار/ ها أنت، ها انا/ قصة بدأت/ مكتوبة في سفر أقداري(...)".
إن الحديث عن الشاعرة العربية الراحلة فدوى طوقان حديث ذو شجون، فشاعرة بحجم فدوى وإرثها الأدبي يتطلب دقة وعبقرية وإلماماً بمختلف مراحل تطور مسيرتها الابداعية، والكتاب الذي نحن بصدده محاولة جادة لتسليط الضوء على العبقرية الشعرية عند فدوى طوقان.
لقد جمع مؤلفه بعض مادته إبان وجوده في سجون الاحتلال ليستكمل بعد خروجه تتبع خطوات الراحلة الكبيرة في مسيرتها الابداعية التي كان عام 1976 منعطفاً هاماً فيها، فقد ركز المؤلف في كتابه على المقارنة بين شعر فدوى وأخيها ابراهيم نافياً عنها صفة التبعية له مؤكداً أن تجربتها أكثر نضجاً من شقيقها، كما تناول معاناتها الوجودية ومعنى الحب عندها وقام كذلك بتتبع البناء الشعري عندها من خلال قراءة بعض دواوينها التي شكلت حدثاً بارزاً في مسيرة الشعر العربي.
