وقد حاولنا إن نجري مسحاً شاملاً لكل ما كتب وقيل عن هذا الموضوع من خلال بوابة المعرفة (الإنترنيت) التي أتاحت فرصة واسعة لنا لبناء مرجعية متينة لم تتوفر سابقاً، عندما كان يصعب أو يتعذر على أي مؤلف الوصول إلى الكثير من المصادر رغم الجهود المضنية التي يبذلها.
ولهذا اعتمد الكتاب على سلة كبيرة من المراجع سجلنا فقط الأساس منها والذي بلغ (261) مرجعاً لأحدث ما قيل عن موضوع التخطيط الإستراتيجي.
