تناول الكتاب في فصوله: ماهية الرؤية الفلسفية للحياة، في محطات منتقاة مختارة، مثل قطع لؤلؤية، تتسم بالتفرد في مضمونها وعرضها، حيث لم أنهج نهج التسلسل التاريخي، إنما اعتمدت تسلسل الفكرة، في فهم الحياة، بحسب رؤى الفلاسفة، الذين اختلفت وتصادمت أفكارهم في الحياة، لكن كلماتهم اتفقت على أن هذه الحياة زائلة لا محالة، وأن هناك حياة أخرى، فمن خلال هذه الفصل قدمت رؤية الفيلسوف الكندي للحزن، ورؤية الفيلسوف االرازي للآفات السلوكية، ورؤية ما بعد الحياة عند رونسار والسلوك الأمعي عند رابليه، وتناقضات الحياة عند نيتشه وجاسيرز، ورؤية المدنية الغربية والآلة وإرتباطهما في تجريد الإنسان من إنسانيته، وإعدام المعنى وما وراء المعنى، عند غادامئر، والأنا اللاشعرية والأنا الناطقة ومتتاليات الأشباح والهلوسة عند كل من فرجينيا وولف وكولن ولسن، وفرويد.
في رؤية فلسفية موجزة، تركز على الفكرة، بعيداً عن الإستطراد في القشور والتفاصيل، وحاولت تقديم تلك الرؤية الفلسفية المختزلة لهذه الثلة من الفلاسفة المبدعين من الغرب، بطريقة سهلة ميسرة، بعيدة عن التعقيد ما أمكن.
وختمت الكتاب بمنظومة من المفردات الحياتية، التي تلامس إهتمام الأفراد والمجتمعات، في ضوء التصور الإسلامي، ومساحات الرؤية النفسية للإنسان، والحياة، بحيث تم تناول تلك المفردات بأسلوب رصين جذاب، يستهدف الفكرة، ويبتعد عن حشو الكلام، ويحلق في التفرد، ويبتعد عن التقليد، في رؤية شمولية موضوعية واقعية، تخاطب الحياة في الحياة.
