أن نتحدث عن معركة ميسلون شيء، وأن يعيشها القارئ بكامل تفاصيلها وأحداثها الملتهبة بالأسى والمرارة شيء آخر.
صحيح أنها لم تشكل لنا نصراً عسكرياً على أرض الواقع، ولكنها سجلت لنا صفحة مشرقة من تاريخ النضال والاستشهاد البطولي قل أن نجد له مثيلاً في تاريخ العالم المعاصر.
كان كل الثائرين الخارجين من بطاح دمشق إلى أرض ميسلون يدركون تماماً بأنهم ذاهبون إلى الشهادة بعدما عز عليهم النصر، مجسدين الشعار الذي عاهدوا أنفسهم أمام الله عليهم وصارخين بوجه الجنرال الفرنسي: (غورو.. إنك لن تدخلها إلا على أجسادنا).
وقد صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عليه، وجعلوا من أجسادهم كبش الشهادة الذي أشعل فيما بعد ثورية الحرية في كل أرجاء سورية.
فهل ترانا نقتدي بهؤلاء الرجال الأبطال أم نصعر خذنا ونحني هاماتنا أمام العدو الصهيوني بحجة أنه أكثر منا عدة وأفتك منا سلاحاً؟
كان شهداء ميسلون عبرة لنا.. فهل من معتبر؟
