قسمت الرواية إلى أربعة عشر فصلاً هي الفاتحة وساعة النبوءة الأولى, غوايات صغيرة, شهقات الجوى المدنف, لم يعد الرياض رمادياً, الأيام لنا وحدنا, عندما تطلبين النيسكافيه فأنت في غاية الحب, وعود مستفزة للبكاء, استفتاحات اللذة القادمة, نقيس نبض الكون بقبلاتنا, القمر يتحلل من قماطه, الاقتران السحري, ليش بنتلفت خايفين, بالإضافة إلى الأماكن للغرباء وللأحزان أيضاً.
من أجواء العمل: أنا مثلك أقاربك الألم أتيتك مرتوياً بخيبات كثيرة.. بيد أني لم ألتصق بالبكاء كحلزون مائي؛ بل ارتفعت طافياً فوق لزوجة الخدر في عتمة ذلك المساء الكئيب الذي باركنا باستحضار الوجع، رتبنا أوراق الماضي الدامية فانفتق نزيفي الذي خلته غيض منذ زمن بعيد... لقد أسرجت خيول الحزن من جديد حينما رأيت لثغة الليل متجللة بصوتك المتهدج وبكيت يا حبيبتي ربما لم تسمعي بكائي.
قلت لك ما بال الدمعة تتوقف كحارس مرمى وسط العين مثل وشم قديم لعلها كذلك.. أراها واجمة فوق الجفن ببرود في مرآتي في صورتي التي التقطها موظف الأحوال المدنية عنوة كعلامة فارقة لميلاد الحزن فلم تسقط حتى بكيت وأبكيتك تلك الليلة المشهودة برقائق العذاب".
