في مجموعته الشعرية المعنونة "أنامل زغبى على عزلة الشاهدة" يستحضر الشاعر عبد الله حبيب المرأة من خلال (الرسائل) خالعاً ظله عليها، ليجعلها في تبادل رمزي للحضور والغياب، موظفاً ثيمة (الحب) توظيفاً قائماً على نظام نصي مختلف، يتولد من الشعور بهرب الأشياء، وإدبارها السريع، حيث لا يبقى من الحبيب، ووجوده الحقيقي إلا رسائل وهو هو شاعرنا يحث العاشقين على الإحتفاظ بها.
في القصيدة المعنونة "رسائل الحب القديم" يقول الشاعر:
"لا تهمل رسائل حبك القديم:/ ذاك سيوجع حبك القديم/ لا تُعد قراءة رسائل حبكَ القديم:/ ذاك سيوجعلك/ لا تحرق رسائل حبك القديم:/ ذاك سيوجع النار/ أبحر برسائل حبك القديم/ قبيل الغروب/ والقها في الماء/ وعند الليل/ حين يلجُ البحرُ القمر/ والضباب العتمة/ ستخرج من رسائل حبك القديم/ أسماك/ وأصداف/ وقواقع (...) ترشد العاشقين إلى أرواحهم/ والنجوم إلى ضلوعها/ والغرقى إلى أمهاتهم/ والسماء إلى الملائكة".
يضم الكتاب قصائد في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "عيدية" ، "رسائل الحب القديم" ، "غرفة" ، "حنان": ، "ندم" ، "عقبة ريام" ، "نعش آخر للطيفة حبيب" ، "طين" ، "رؤيا" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
