تحظى الظاهرة الإجرامية بإهتمام الباحثين في مجالات القانون الجنائي، وعلم الإجرام والسياسة الجنائية، وعلم النفس الإجتماعي... ويعتبر البعض أن ظهور الجريمة ارتبط بظهور الإنسان على سطح الأرض، وكان قتل قابيل لأخيه هابيل... أول جريمة عرفتها البشرية.
ولقد أوضحت الديانات السماوية وتشريعاتها منذ أقدم العصور أن إرتكاب الجريمة هو إرتكاب المعصية ومخالفة التعاليم الإلهية التي تستوجب القصاص.
ومع التطورات الحضارية التي تمر بها المجتمعات يزداد خطر الجريمة تبعاً للتقدم العلمي والتكنولوجي... وإستيطانها لجموع البشر حيثما وجدت هذه الجموع فهي تشكل حافزاً للباحثين على النظرة في السلوك الإجرامي نظرة تسعى إلى رصد الأسباب الموضوعية لهذه الظاهرة، ومن منطلق إعتبار السلوك الإجرامي ظاهرة إجتماعية تتوارى أسبابها وسط الركام الإجتماعي.
بدأت الدراسات النفسية إستكشافها لأسرار الجريمة فكشفت لنا عن المفارقة التي مفادها أنه في الوقت الذي يمثل فيه المجتمع أحد أهم شروط الجريمة، فإن الجريمة في مقابل ذلك تمثل أحد أهم شروط الهدم الإجتماعي، فالجريمة - أية جريمة - عدوان على الخلق والكرامة والشرف ومقوضة لنظام الأسر والبيوت ومدعاة لرواج الكثير من المفاسد المدمرة للمجتمع.
ولما كانت الجريمة ظاهرة إجتماعية.... فقد قسمت الفصول النظرية لهذا الكتاب (أبشع جرائم النساء) إلى: الفصل الأول: "الجريمة ظاهرة إجتماعية... أم..."، أما الفصل الثاني فكان عنوانه "النساء والجريمة" إذ شغلت المرأة إهتمام الباحثين في تحليل شخصيتها، سلوكها، وعنفها أحياناً، فلم تكن تلك المخلوقة الضعيفة، البريئة، الشفافة وفي وجهها الآخر... تراها مجرمة، منحرفة، لها ميول عدوانية شريرة.
أما الفصل الثالث: فقد أفرد للحديث عن الجرائم ارتكبتها النساء فكان المبحث الأول: جرائم في التاريخ، المبحث الثاني: جرائم عربية... لنساء عربيات مجرمات، المبحث الثالث: جرائم متفرقة... جمعت بين السرقة والنصب وجرائم غريبة ومثيرة، وجرائم لنساء وراء القضبان.
