إن مساعدة علم الرياضيات على إستخدام الأسئلة الصفية والتخطيط لها وإعدادها وصياغتها بطريقة مناسبة يمكن أن يرجع بالفائدة العظيمة على نتاجات التعلم لدى الطلبة إذ يساهم في تحسين مخزونهم ويسهل عليهم مراجعة هذه المواد المخزونة، كما يساعدهم على تنظيم المعارف والخبرات بطريقة يسهل إستيعابها وتمثلها وتذوقها، فضلاً عن إستخدام أسلوب المناقشة بتوظيف أسئلة منظمة ومخططة يحيي دور الطلبة ويزيد مساهمتهم في تنظيم تعلمهم ونموهم وتطورهم مع المواد، وهذا يساعد على تكيفهم ويحبب إليهم الجو الصفي، ويقلل من العوامل المنفرة التي تجذب الطلبة بعيداً عن التعلم.
كما أن إجراءات تنظيم الأسئلة وإعدادها وصياغتها، تساهم في تطوير صورة إيجابية للمدرس عن نفسه وتزيد إحترامه لممارسته الصفية وتنعكس إيجابياً على الطلبة، وعلى أدوارهم المستقبلية، وأدوارهم في المجتمع.
ويفترض كثير من التربويين أن صياغة الأسئلة التي تهتم بإدارة نقاشات صفية تعليمية وتحديد أهدافها ومحتواها المرجعي، وسلوك المتعلم المطلوب، تتطلب إعداد المدرس وتدريبه، ومع إن بعض المدرسين لديهم القدرة على ممارسة ذلك بقليل من التدريب، فإن تعريفهم بهذه الخبرات وتدريبهم على صياغتها وإستخدامها وإجراءاتها، يزيد فاعلية ممارستهم عموماً، ويقلل من الأخطاء العشوائية التي تسود بعض هذه الممارسات، ويجعل عملية إستخدام الأسئلة في المناقشات الصفية منظمة ومخططة ومحددة الهدف.
