كان القرن الثالث عشر الهجري- على خلاف ما يعتقده الكثير من الباحثين- قرناً يحفل بالعلم والعلماء, ويأتي في مقدمة علماء هذا القرن العلامة الشيخ خالد النقشبندي ذو الجناحين, الذي يعد أبرز أعلام عصره على الإطلاق, وذلك لما احتواه من علوم كثيرة, وصفاء نادر, وأثر في التربية والإرشاد, فقد ترك الشيخ آثاره, ومريديه, ونشر الطريقة النقشبندية في بلاد الشام, والعراق, والحجاز, والأناضول, والأكراد, وامتد خلفاؤه فنشروها فيما وراء تلك البلاد, على شكل لم يسبق له نظير في سرعة الانتشار من قبل وتوفي عن عشرات الآلاف من الخلفاء والمريدين, وجدد التصوف, وحماه من عبث العابثين والمدعين وتربص المنكرين, حتى عدّه كثير من المؤرخين مجدد القرن الثالث عشر الهجري.
محمد شريف الصواف: ولد في دمشق عام 1390هجرية, حصل على دبلوم في العلوم الزراعية من المعهد المتوسط الزراعي عام 1411هجرية. درس العلوم العربية والإسلامية في كلية أصول الدين والمعهد الشرعي للدعوة والإرشاد, له عدة مؤلفات صدر منها: الحياة الزوجية, تربية الأبناء والمراهقين, بر الوالدين, وغيرها الكثير.
